UNITED WE CAN MAKE CANADA A BETTER PLACE

A VOLUNTEER INITIATIVE TO MAKE CANADA A BETTER PLACE AS A COUNTRY AND AS A SOCIETY

OTTAWA, ON Unican.org was created by a volunteer effort to create a process that will create the online arena, where proposals can be made how to make Canada a better place as a country and as a society.

This idea is motivated by a desire to give back to the country that has created opportunities for so many born here as well as those who immigrated here from other countries, to develop a future for themselves while integrating into Canada and absorbing its values of mutual respect and tolerance.

From time to time in different forums participants are asked the question How would you make the world a better place? Children are asked to write an essay at school on the subject. The result is a good grade but there it ends. We believe that, by refining the idea Lets make Canada a better place and by formulating the process to move beyond the first stage - we can provide a channel and function as a pyramid of ideas where the best can float to the top, get the visibility and the recognition they deserve and as a result become a focused credible proposal that can be taken up by the responsible bodies in government and in the private sector in Canada.

Young entrepreneurs compete for venture capital to bring their ideas to reality, very few get it and even fewer realize their dream. Unican.org is proposed to serve as the way to channel the natural desires of Canadians to improve their country and society by providing them  with visibility and a fair chance to be considered. Those who rise to the top, will receive the recognition and a chance to make a real impact on the future of our country.

We are looking for sponsors who have the vision to participate with us in this important mission by providing us with their sponsorship. The Sponsors, coming from three sectors: the private sector, the government sector and the charitable organizations sector (NGO) will reflect the diversity of interests which when combined will assist us in providing the process that will channel the best proposals on how to make Canada a better place, to the top of the pyramid and enable their realization by the government and the private sector in this country.

About UNICAN.ORG

We are an organization of volunteers who believe in doing for the future of this country. We were born here, we came here from the outside world, we came as children or as young adults or as mature accomplished adults. We started small, we grew, we developed, we made a contribution to society and we feel that this effort will produce a valuable contribution to our future, to the future of our children and our grandchildren.

While the principles of volunteerism are important to make the process work, more than volunteer hours and volunteer efforts are required. That is why our sponsors who provide the funding to allow the process to function and the goals to be achieved  deserve the recognition for their financial support.

That is a need for professional work on various fronts to establish the process and to guide it in a professional way. Our staff, hired to do the job, will identify with our mission and provide their enthusiasm to accomplish that mission.

Our advisory academic panel will establish evaluation criteria and guide a proposal through the stages of judging and team evaluation to select the winners by province, by age group and finally the annual winners to be recognized in the Annual Awards Ceremony in Ottawa attended by Government Officials,  Private industry Officials, our Sponsors the Winners and their families.
